launched –

Ø Former Chief Election Commissioner of India Navin
Chawla’s book ‘Every Book Count’s was launched by Former Vice President of
India, Hamid Ansari in New Delhi.
Ø This book is about how the electoral machinery works
in India .
Ø The book explains about India is on the cups of change.
Threats to bumphead
Parrot Fish in Andaman –
Ø Bumphead parrotfish, Bolbometopon muricatum, is an
important component of coral reef ecosystem but is highly endangered globally.
Ø It is categorized as ‘vulnerable’ is the Red List of
the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
Ø A group of researchers recently studied the
distribution, abundance, and dangers to this species in the waters of Andaman
and Nicobar islands .
84% reduction in TB deaths
in India
–
Ø India achieved an 84% reduction in tuberculosis death among
people living wit HIV by 2017.
Ø It is the highest recorded decline among over 20
nation and it is also three years ahead of the 2020 deadline.
Ø World Health Organisation estimates have shown that
globally, TB deaths among people living with HIV fallen by 42% since 2010.
FinTech Conclave 2019
held –

Ø NITI Aayog organized a day-long FinTech Conclave at Dr.Ambedkar International
Center , New Delhi on 25th March 2019.
Ø The objective is to shape India ’s continued ascendancy in
FinTech, build the narrative for future strategy and policy efforts.
Ø It hosted more than 300 representatives from the
leading Financial Institutions including HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, SBI Card, Tata
Capital and FinTechs.
Filmfare awards 2019
announced –

Ø 64th Filmfare Awards were held at Jio Garden ,
Mumbai on 23 March 2019.
Ø Raazi won the Best Film and Alia Bhatt received the
Best Actress of Raazi.
Ø Ranveer Singh won Critics Best Actor for Padmaavat.
Ø Ranbir Kapoor won Best Actor for Sanju.
Ø Andhadhun won Critics Best Films.

Ø Oman had signed an agreement with the USA that allows
American Ships and Warplane to take advantages of his ports and airports.
Ø The framework agreement is aimed at bolstering
Omani-American Military relation.
Ø The Agreement will allow the US forces to
take advantage of the facilities offered at some of the Sultanate’s ports and
airports during visit of the US Military Vessels and aircraft.

Ø Thailand held its first general election after five years of
military rule.
Ø The military ousted an elected government in a coup in
2014.
Ø About 51.4 million people voted in the election.
Ø It was appoint 500 members at the house of Representatives,
the lower house of the Parliament.
ISRO will launched an
advanced electronic –
Ø ISRO will launch an advanced electronic intelligence
satellite EMISAT, developed by DRDO on April 1, 2019.
Ø It will used to sniff out enemy radars and for
collecting imagery and communication intelligence.
Ø Its characteristics are – help monitor the activities
of enemy radars and sensors deployed along the border and known the exact
topography of enemy areas.
Karnataka Bank reported
fraud to RBI –
Ø Karnataka Bank reported a fraud to RBI amounting to
Rs. 13.26 core in the fund-based working capital facility extended to SRS
Finance.
Ø The fraud was on account of diversion of funds.
Ø SRS Finance is a non-banking financial corporation
(NBFC) with focus on corporate finance and investments, and the consumer
finance business.
Obituary –

Ø Ghulam Nabi Rathar of Manigam Kangan, a social
activist, passed away after brief illness on 23 March 2019.
Ø Noted Folk Artist, Music director and writer Vinjamuri
Anasuya Devi died at Houston in the U.S. A
recipient of Kala Prapoorna award, she got her first gramophone record at the
age of 8 years.
Meghna Gulzar won best
Director –

Ø Meghna Gulzar won the Best Director at Filmfare Awards
for her film Raazi, starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal.
Ø Shreya Ghoshal and Arijit Singh won the Best Playback
Singers for the Padmaavat and Raazi respectively.
IAF to induct 4
Chincook helicopters –
Ø The Indian Air Force inducted the first 4 heavy-lift
Chincook helicopters on 25 March 2019.
Ø They are capable of transporting howitzers and troops
to forward and high-altitude areas across the country.
Ø The Chincook is considered one of the most modern
heavy lift choppers in the world and can carry gods and cargo of upto 9.6
tonnes
Naresh Goyal and Anita
Goyal exit Jet Airways –

Ø Jet Airways founder and principal promoters Naresh
Goyal, and his wife Anita Goyal stepped down from the board and left the
airline they found nearly 25 years ago.
Ø The Current CEOO Vinay Dube is expected to stay on and
steer Jet out of the current crisis.
Government garnered Rs
700 crore –
Ø
Sale of ‘enemy shares’ and buyback of stocks by CPSEs
together yielded the government over Rs. 11,300 crore.
Ø
This helped the
exchequer mop up Rs.85,000 crore from disinvestment in the current fiscal and
second highest receipt ever.
Ø
Enemy property
refers to the assets left behind by people who migrated to migrated to Pakistan and China
and are no longer citizens of India .
CBSE to introduce AI,
Yoga as new subjects –

Ø The CBSE will introduce artificial intelligence (AI),
early childhood care education and Yoga as new subjects in school curriculum
from the upcoming academic session.
Ø The CBSE is introducing AI as an optional 6th
subject at class IX from the session 2019-2020 onwards.
Ø Yoga and early Childhood education as elective
subjects will be introduced at senior secondary level.
Delhivery gets $413
million funding –

Ø Logistics startup Delhivery Pvt. Ltd has secured $413
million in a funding round led by the SoftBank Vision Fund.
Ø Delhivery plans to use it to expand its presence to
20,000 pincodes to the first quarter of FY20 from 15,000 pincodes.
Ø Delhivery was founded in 2011 by Barua, Mohit Tandon,
Bhavesh Manglani, Suraj Saharan and Kapil Bharti.

Ø Peter Tabichi eon the Global Teacher Prize 2019.
Ø Peter was choosen from our Top 10 finalists who come
from all corners of the globe.
Ø Peter has dedicated his wife to helping others.
Ø He gives 80% of his teaching salary to local community
projects, including education, sustainable agriculture, and peace-building.
Govindraj re-elected
BFI president –
Ø K. Govindraj was unanimously re-elected as President
of the Basketball Federation of India, (BFI) at its annual general-body
meeting.
Ø Chande Mukhi Sharma was re-elected secretary-general
as the BFI promised a bunch of new ideas and tournaments.
Ø A new six-team women’s league would be held in the
next three months, declare Govindraj.
Edin Dzeko reached 100 Bosnia caps –

Ø Bosnia and Herzegovania captain Edin Dzeko became the first
player from his country to reach 100 International caps in their opening Euro
2020 qualifirer against Armenia
on Saturday.
Ø The 33-year-old was presented with a shirt bearing the
number ‘100’ and a bouquet of flowers.
Ø He made his Bosnia debut on June 2, 2007.
Ø Dzeko is currently playing his club football for Italian
giants Roma.
