Essel World launched bird park –
· Essel World launched an interactive
bird park in Gorail recently.
· The first-of-its-kind rain
forest-themed park spread across 1.4 acres in home to over 500 exotic birds
from more than 60 species.
· The park is equipped with small ponds
for aquatic birds, dense cover of trees for birds t incubate their eggs and a
water stream that offers drinking water to birds.
Anand secured 5th place in chess –
· Vishwanathan Anand secured 5th
place in the Shamkir Chess 2019 tournament, Sahmkir, Azerbaijan.
· He drew with Vaseline Topalov in the
9th round to finish fourth with 4.5 points, the same as Alexander
Grischuk and Teimour Radjabov.
· He was placed 5th in the
rankings behind Magnus Carlsen, Ding Liren, Sergery Karjakin, and Grischuk.
Egypt unveiled 4300 years old Tomb –

· Egypt unveiled the 43,000 year old
tomb of a Fifth Dynasty nobleman adorned with colourful reliefs and
well-preserved inscriptions a month after being discovered.
· The Tomb is located South of Saqqara,
a vast necropolis south of Cairo, and belongs to a senior official named Khuwy.
· It is mostly made of white limestone
bricks and is adorned with ornate paintings.
Impact of space travel on astronauts revealed –

· Scientists have found no major
epigenetic differences in Astronauts Scott Kelly, who spent a years in Space
abroad the International Space Station, and his twin brother, Mark Kelly, who
remained on Earth.
· Epigenetic changes involve chemical
tweaks to DNA that can influence gene activity.
· The changes affect when and how a
gene is read, or expressed, for its protein-encoding instructions.
Lapin confirmed as Haiti’s new Prime Minister –
· Haiti’s President Jovenel Moise
confirmed Jean-Michel Lapin as the country’s new Prime Minister.
· Lapin, the former culture and
communications ministers, was named acting Prime Minister on 21 March 2019.
· Lapin is the third head of government
under president Moise, who has led the Caribbean island nation since February
2017.
HDFC tops Forbes’ list of best Indian Banks –

· Forbes has compiled a first-ever list
of the World’s Best Bank 2019 in terms of customer services and technological
advancements.
· The private lender, HDFC Bank, was
ranked at the top of the list.
· After HDFC Bank, another private
lender ICICI Bank took the second spot, while DBS was at the third rank in
Forbes list of Indian banks.
Digital Sukoon receives Best Digital award –

· Digital Sukoon founder, Sudhanshu
Kumar was honoured with the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Nobel Award by International
Human Rights Council on 10 April 2019.
· Digital Sukoon received the Best

Google Pay launched gold buying –

· Google partnered with bullion refiner
MMTC – PAMP India on 11 April 2019.
· This will allow Google Pay users to
buy and sell gold through the app.
· Through this partnership, Google Pay
users will be able to buy 99.99% 24-karat gold.
SpaceX carried out first commercial launch –
· SpaceX has carried out its first
commercial launch with its Falcon Heavy rocket tasked with placing a Saudi
satellite in orbit.
· The rocket exerts 5.1 million pounds
of thrust – that of more than a dozen jetliners.
· The rocket carried a Saudi Arabian
satellite operated by Arabsat.
India to be Guest of Honour at ADIBF 2019 –

· India will be the Guest of Honour
country at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, ADIBF 2019, to be held from 24th
to 30th of this month.
· The fair aims to highlight the UAE’s
rich heritage, showcasing its authenticity and modernity, as well as its
cultural and literary output.
· The book fair will celebrate India,
with its authentic culture, arts, heritage, and knowledge-based traditions.
Tata Trust and Microsoft signed MoU –
· Tata Trusts and Microsoft India
signed a MoU to jointly rejuvenate the handloom clusters in the Eastern and
North-Eastern parts of the country.
· Microsoft’s ReWeave initiative helps
preserve traditional weaving forms by upskilling, design, marketing, and
entrepreneurship.
· Tata Trusts’ initiative, ‘Antaran’,
aims at rejuvenating ailing handloom clusters through an end-to-end programme.
TCS partnered with Google –

· Tata Consultancy Services partnered
with Google cloud to built industry-specific cloud solutions, on 10 April 2019.
· TCS’s solutions on Google Cloud
Platform (GCP) will help enterprises build secure, cloud-native analytics
platforms that are cost-effective, easy to maintain, and future ready.
· TCS offers a set of cloud enablement
services on GCP, applying the Machine-Fast Delivery Model.
Youtube’s largest growing market: India –
· India has become Youtube’s largest
and fastest growing market with 265 million Indian’s watching the video-sharing
websites every month.
· In the last one year, YouTube’s
consumption on mobile has increased to 85%, with 60% of the watch time coming
from outside the six largest metro’s in India.
· YouTube has more than 1,200 Indian
creator’s crossing the million subscriber’s-milestone.
