US Museum to feature Dylan’s paintings –

·       A Tusla Museum will soon open anew Bob Dylan exhibit that will showcase 12 pastel portraits the musician painted, handwritten song lyrics, an electric guitar.

·       The Gilcrease Museum will display “Bob Dylan: Face Value and Beyond” from May 10 to Sept. 15.

·       He’s is best known for his music, also a writer of prose, a filmmaker, and someone who has been involved in the visual arts of decades.

Slovakia’s first female president –

·       Zuzana Caputova, a 45-year-old-lawyer and anti-corruption campaigner, won 58.4% of the votes in Saturdays poll and will take office in June.

·       She campaigned on the platform of ‘humanism, solidarity, and truth’.

·       She was a civil activist best known for blocking a planned landfill site in her hometown in and played a role in protest after the murder of journalist Jan Kuciak.

Appointments –

·       Vivek Gupta has assumed charge as the new Director (Raw Materials and Logistics) at Steel Authority of India.

·       Election Commissioned of India has nominated Vivek Dube as the Central Police Observer for the Sates of West Bengal and Jharkhand during General Elections 2019.

·       Hitachi payment Services appoints Rustom Irani as Managing Director.

PNB sells 13.01% stake housing finance –

·       PNB is selling parts of its stake in PNB Housing Finance to global private equity firm General Atlantic Group and Investment firm Varde Partners for Rs. 1,851.60 crore.

Odisha statehood day, Utkal Diwas –

·       Utkal Dibasa or Odisha Day is celebrated on 1 April across the great fervor and gaiety in the formation of the state. The Indian State of Odisha came into being on April 1, 1936.

·       It is also called Orissa Foundation Day and Vishuva Milan.

·       President, Vice President, and Prime Minister have greeted the people of Odisha on the occasion of state hood day, Utkal Diwas.

Prez in community reception at Santiago –

·       President Ram Nath Kovind participated in a community reception at Santiago, organized by Indian Community and Friends of India.

·       Addressing Members of the Indian Diaspora and friends of India, said about the Universal message of peace and tolerance preached by Guru Nanak Dev Ji and Gandhi and increasingly relevant.

·       He is on a three-day visit to Chile on the third leg of a 3 nation tour.

International airport in Goa suspended by SC –

·       SC suspends eco clearance for an international airport in Goa.

·       The health of the environment is key to preserving the right to life, the Supreme Court have observed in a recent judgement and suspended the environmental clearance granted for an International airport at Mopa in Goa.

Arab leaders condemn U.S. move in Golan –

·       Arab leaders condemned on Sunday a U.S. decisions to recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan heights and said West Asia’s stability depending on creating a Palestinian state.

·       Saudi Arabia’s king Salman bin Abdulaziz told Arab monarchs, President and Prime Minister’s at the meeting that his country “absolutely rejects” any measures affecting Syria’s sovereignty over the Golan Height.

ISRO’s PSLV-C45 launched today –

·       ISRO’s PSLV-C45 has successfully put the electronic intelligence satellite EMISAT in the 749 k orbit.

·       PSLV-C45 took off from Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota with EMISAT as well as 28 satellites from Spain (1), Lithuania (2), Switzerland (1), and the United Sates (24) as part if its payload.

·       This will be the 47^th mission for ISRO’s PSLV program.

Sports –

·       Elavenil Valarivan dominated the women’s air rifle in winning the gold in the 12^th Asian Airgun championship.

·       Divyansh Dominated the men’s rifle in winning the gold in the 12^th Asian Airgun championships.

·       Chelsea striker Gonzalo Higuain has announced his retirement from the Argentina National Team.

China launches 2^nd gen relay satellite –

·       China launched its first data relay satellite, the Tianlian I-01

·       China has successfully launched the first of its new generation data relay satellites into orbit that will provide data relay, measurement, and controlled services for its manned spacecraft.

·       The satellite is developed by the China Academy of Space Technology under the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation.
