Reliance Jio signed pact with Haptik –

·       Reliance Jio Digital Services Limited (RJDSL) entered into an agreement with Haptik Infotech Pvt. Ltd. for Rs 700 crore.
·       On a fully-diluted basis, Reliance would hold about 87% of the business.
·       The focus of the investment is on enhancement and expansion of the platform, with an addressable market opportunity of more than one billion users in India.

Lori Lightfoot: First Black Women Mayor –

·       Chicago created history by electing and African-American women as its Mayor for the first time.
·       She will take over office from Mayor Rahm Emanuel, who previously served as chief of staff under former President Barack Obama.
·       She will also be Chicago’s first openly gay mayor.

App launched to facilitate elderly voters –

·       Sahulat, a mobile app aimed to facilitate voting by elders by launched in Jammu & Kashmir’s Rajouri districts on 3 April 2019.
·       Districtselection officer Mohammed Aijaz Asad launched the Android-based application to reach out to the voters who are 90 years old or above.
·       The app has a simple and user-friendly interface with very simple login operation making it convenient for everyone.

ICC to join hands with Interpol –

·       The International Cricket Council (ICC) has sought closer working relations with the Interpol to widen the scope of its fight against corruption in the support.
·       The idea is to ensure that players are better educated about the corruptor’s and Interpol’s vast network would be helpful in this.

Indian women’s team registered win: Football –

·       In Football, the Indian Women’s National Team registered a 2-0 win over Indonesia in its opening match of the Olympic Qualifiers Round two in Mandalay, Myanmar on 4 April 2019.
·       With this Win, India went a step closer to making it to the 2020 Tokyo Games.
·       India will face Nepal in second match of the group stage on 6 April 2019.

PayTM to offer insurance by June –

·       PayTm Payments Bank is planning to launch risk-free insurance and mutual fund products by June 2019.
·       As on Date, the PayTM Payments Bank has 4.4 crore saving bank account with a deposit of over Rs. 400 crore; and there are as many as 26 crore wallets accounts.
·       PayTM Payments Bank was incorporated in August 2016 and formally being its operations in May 2017 from a branch in Noida.

London exhibition paid tribute to Mary Quant –

·       Marry Quant was the subject of a major retrospective opening at London’s Victoria & Albert Museum this week.
·       She was the fashion queen of Britain’s Swinging Sixties.
·       The 85-year-old has gone down in history for popularizing the mini-skirt and for making women’s clothes fun and affordable.

BSNL got license for in-flight connectivity –

·       BSNL has received in-flight and maritime connectivity (IFMC) license from the department of telecommunications (DoT).
·       People will soon be able to surf the net and send mails and WhatsApp messages while flying in and over the Indian Airspace.
·       BSNL has partnered with Inmarsat, a leading global mobile satellite communications player.

·       Scientists have put the Stephen Hawking theory to its most rigorous test to date, saying dark matter is not made up of primordial black holes smaller than a tenth of a millimeter.
·       About 85% of the matter in the universe is believed to made up of dark matter.
·       It gravitational forces prevents stars in our Milky Way from flying apart.

International Mines Awareness Day: 4 April –

·       International Mines Awareness Day is observed every year on 4 Apiril.
·       The theme for IMAD 2019 IS ‘United Nations Promotes SDGs – Safe Ground – Safe Home’.
·       On 8 December 2005, the General Assembly declared that 4 April of each year shall be observed as the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action.

UAE honoured PM Narendra Modi –

·       UAE honoured PM Narendra Modi with its highest decoration in recognition in the ‘pivotal role’ played by the PM in strengthening ties between the two nations.
·       He was presented the Zayed Medal by the UAE Presidents.
·       The Zayed Medal is the highest decoration awarded the Kings, Presidents, and heads of states.
