Russian delegation
visited IB Ministry –
· A Russian delegation led by the Russian Deputy
Minister of Digital Development, H.E Mr. Alexey Volin met Amit Khare,
Secretary, Ministry of I&B on 4 April 2019.
· It was mutually agreed that an Annual Indo-Russia form
for Media Cooperation be organized alternately in India
and Russia
to institutionalize the process of cooperation between the two nations in the
media and entertainment sector.
Nepal-India Conclave to
be held in Kathmandu –
· Nepal-India Franchise Investment Expo and Conclave
will be held in Kathmandu from 15th
to 16th May 2019.
· It will focus on building the relations between India and Nepal through entrepreneurship
development.
· It is being organized by Federation of Nepalese
Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FNCCI) and Embassy of India and Franchise India .
· It will bring the leading Indian iconic brands to Nepal .
Indian Football team
rose to 101 FIFA ranking –

· The Indian men’s football team gained two places two
rise to 101 in the FIFA rankings released on April 2019.
· With 1219 ranking points, the Indian Team lies 18th
among the Asian countries.
· Belgium holds on to the top spot, while Iran topped the Asian rankings at 21 followed by
Japan (26), South Korea (37), Australia
(41) and Qatar
(55).
Indian Army discovered
wreckage of aircraft –
· A 12-member Indian Army Patrol along with a police
representative recovered wreckage of a World War II US Air Force aircraft in
Roing district of Arunachal Pradesh recently.
· The patrol located the aircraft debris covered by
thick undergrowth and buried under five feet of snow.
· Its discovery and other warlike stores will definitely
lead to revelation of some historical of inputs.
TATA projects bagged
$321 million order –
· TATA projects has received order worth USD 321 million
(around Rs.2,182 crore) from Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL).
· This 2x700 MW power plant order is the company’s third
contract in the nuclear power sector.
· The scope of work involves construction of main plant
buildings, structures and other associated work of Gorakhpur , Haryana Any Vidyut Pariyojana.
April 5: National
Maritime Day of India
–

· In India ,
the National Maritime Day is celebrated every year on April 5.
· On this day in 1919, navigational history was created
when SS Loyalty, the ship of The Scindia Steam Navigation Company Ltd.
travelled to the UK .
· The day was first celebrated on April 5, 1964.
· The theme of the 56th edition of the
National Maritime Day is ‘Indian Ocean -An
Ocean of opportunity’.
New Chief Justice of Calcutta sworn in –
· Justice T B N Radhakrishnan was sworn-in as the Chief
Justice of Calcutta High Court on 4 April 2019.
· West Bengal Governor K N Tripathi administered the
oath of office to Justice Radhakrishnan in a solemn ceremony at the High Court.
· He was earlier the Chief Justice of the High Court of
Hyderabad for the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh from July 7, 2018,

· Sridhar Muthukrishan, a 2nd-year student of
BSc Visual Communications entered the Guinness Book of World Record in light
painting photography with 1,350 light orbs.
· His working was submitted to the Guinness Book
officials on February 13, 2018, and the certificate was issued in March 2019.

· China deployed its latest guided missile destroyer and
frigate in the fleet of naval ships participating in anti-piracy operations in
the Gulf of Aden and Somalian coast in the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean .
· China ’s 32nd convoy to the Gulf of Aden and
Somali Waters set sail from a military port in Zhoushan, East China’s Zhejiang Province on 4 April 2019.
RBI lowered GDP growth
forecast to 7.2% -

· The RBI lowered the GDP growth forecast for the
current fiscal to 7.2% from the earlier estimate of 7.4% amid probability of EI
Nino effects on monsoon rains and uncertain global economic outlook.
· It had projected the GDP growth for 2019-20 at 7.4%.
