A village with carbon-positive tag –

·       Phayeng in Manipur has become India’s first carbon-positive settlement.
·       A village is given the carbon-positive tag if it sequesters more carbon than it emits, slowing the accumulation of greenhouse gases and mitigating the effects f climate change.
·       As part of the carbon-positive village project, Phayeng will receive a grant of Rs.10 crore in phases to facilitate afforestation.

BSE, India INX sign MoU with Moscow Exchange –

·       A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Moscow Exchange and India’s BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) and the India Exchange Limited.
·       The ultimate objective of the MoU is of connecting the investors’ communities and companies in both countries and allowing a capital formation platform on a larger scale.
·       The MoU was signed in Moscow on 3 April, 2019.

7th Foreign Office consultations held –

·       The 7th Foreign Office consultations between India and Italy were held in New Delhi on 4 April 2019.
·       The Indian side was led by Secretary (West), Ministry of External Affairs, A. Gitesh Sharma.
·       They also exchanged views on regional and multilateral issues, including cooperation in the United States and other international organizations.

WhatsApp launches tip line features –

·       WhatsApp launched an India-focused fact-checking feature called tip line feature on 2 April, 2019.
·       It was developed to combat fake news and rumors starting with the run-up the Lok Sabha elections.
·       The tip line feature will develop create a database of rumors to study misinformation during elections.
·       It has been developed in collaboration with India-based media skilling startup PROTO.

Roadies, NIF to invest $2 billion –

·       Roadies, a private investor and operator of  transport infrastructure worldwide and the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) have jointly set up a platform to invest in road projects in India.
·       The platform would invest up to $2 billion of  equity targeting toll-operate-transfer models, acquisitions of existing road concessions and investment opportunities in the road sector.

India’s first A.I enabled –

·       Revolt Intellicorp will manufacture India’s first AI-enabled electric motorcycle in June 2019.
·       Revolt Intellicorp has been founded by Micromax’s co-founder Rahul Sharma.
·       The headquarters of the company is at Gurugram.
·       The manufacturing facility if the company is located in Manesar.

Mayoori is now Google India industry head –

·       Mayoori Kagno was appointed as head of Google’s industry-Agency Partnership.
·       She will be leading Google’s engagement with Publicis and DAN.
·       Before joining Google India, Mayoori has worked as Managing Director in Performics which is part of Publicis Groupe.
·       She is the former Bollywood Actress who has worked in films like Naseem.

US to designated IRG as terrorist organization –

·       The US will designated Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRG) as a terrorist organization.
·       The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) was formed after the clerical regime.
·       IRGC is in charge of Iran’s ballistic missiles and nuclear programmes.
·       The IRGC has an estimated 125,000-strong military with army, navy and air units.

CCMB scientists make major breakthrough –

·       Researchers at the Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) proclaimed new discovery on new antimicrobial approaches.
·       They are studying the cell growth in bacteria and have discovered a new enzyme ‘Murein EndopeptidiaseK’ which would cut the bacteria cell wall.
·       The researchers had identified a new enzyme which would act on the protein of cell wall in Escherichia coli (E. coli).

RBI sets WMA Limit for Government –

·       The Reserve Bank of India has decided that the limits for Ways and Means Advances (WMA) for the first half of the financial year 2019-20 will be Rs.75,000 crore.
·       The interest rate of WMA will be Repo-Rate and overdraft will b 2% above the Repo-Rate.
·       RBI may trigger fresh flotation of market loans when the Government of India utilizes 75% of the WMA limit.
